Pillory

Paredes de Coura
Description
In 1909, the pillory was destroyed and all its pieces scattered. Mayor Narcizo Alves da Cunha decided to gather them and to rebuild it.
It consists of a rounded shaft fitted into a parallelepiped plinth on a base formed by three squared steps. The pillory is finished at the top by a sphere and also features the national coat-of-arms crowned by a rounded pinnacle.
