Museums - Fernando Neves Rural Museum

Maia
Description

Situated in a farmhouse, a typical house from Maia, the "Museum" has been set up where the animal stables used to be situated and in the area under the threshing floor. The objects have been displayed with no particular order in mind and with no previous study or contextualisation. The "Museum" is a private collection that has accumulated over the years.

According to Mr. Fernando Neves the idea behind setting up the Museum was to preserve old objects and show younger people what life was like in the old days.

The Museum is not open to the public. It is only open occasionally following previous booking.
