Description
The idea of creating a Municipal Museum paying tribute to Bernardino Machado is thought of for the first time in 1983. In 1995, the "National Show Bernardino Machado" results in an awareness of the existence of wealth, combined with great motivation, justify the creation of a museum entirely dedicated to this personality. 

It is decided that this will be installed in the Palace of Baron Trovisqueira, a 19th century building, bought by the City Council in 1988. 

Also in the year 1995 the Museum Program appears with vast activities: Organisation, inventory, classification of the collection deposited on file; temporary exhibitions; conferences and seminars; editions of educational material.

The collection of context theme is constituted by the following centres: Documentary Fund (diplomas, letters, photographs, etc.), monographs, frames, clothing, furniture, personal items, decorative arts, among others, from the period between 1835 and 1944.

The Museum located at the Palace of Baron Trovisqueira, Adriano Pinto Basto Street, nº 75 in Vila Nova de Famalicão, may be visited from Tuesday to Friday between the 10:00 am and 5:30 pm and on weekends between the 2:30 pm and the 5:30 pm, closing to the public on Mondays and holidays.
