ANTIQUE CAR MUSEUM
The creation of the Antique and Classic Car Club in 1973, turned out to be conclusive by achieving, two decades later, the Automobile Museum of V.N. de Famalicão. By bringing together several hundreds of small antique automobile collectors encouraged, to everyone’s eyes, the value and the importance of cultural heritage gathered by its members.
Gave way to an increased scale and recovered an old idea, and long rooted into the local ‘famalicense’ society, for the passion and by collecting of automobiles.
If the idea of the Museum was entered into the initial purposes of the Club, its implementation was marked by the progresses and setbacks, directed by initiatives that were proven that the path was possible and deserved the support and affection of the population. In this course included, in addition to some historical parades, two major exhibitions, organized in 1997, in collaboration with the municipality of V.N. de Famalicão and in 2005, having as partners the Rotary Club of Famalicão and Lago Discount, which were visited by 10,000 and 100,000 people respectively.
The last step, which now ends, was implemented through a partnership between the municipality of V.N. de Famalicão the Fungere – Property Management Fund and the Ancient and Classic Car Club.
