The testimonies from the archaeological site of the “Castro do Monte da Guilheta”, fortified settlement from the Iron Age, located on the “Monte de Moldes”, are exposed in one of the rooms of the building of the Parish Council of Castelo de Neiva. The stock is which and varied. In addition to the usual common pottery fragments from the Roman, Celtic and Medieval Ages, many other elements of which stand out for their rarity such as helmets and cups in bronze that appeared with the earthworks for the construction of a house at the foot of the stand. Some coins of the Age of the Emperors Augustus, who suggested that have been around the change of the Age, and between the century I B.C. and I A.D., the town experienced its heyday, however the precise date of the end of the Roman occupation of the site.
