The revitalization of the Cine-Theatre Neiva - opened in 1949 and closed in the 80s - now recovered and transformed into Municipal Theatre, is a key element for the cultural promotion strategy of Vila do Conde and of the Porto Metropolitan Area.
Indeed, the Municipal Theatre intends to play a strategic role in municipal cultural policy, seeking to improve the conditions for realization of national and even international scale events, strive to capture new events, retain new audiences and enhance the dynamics of cultural animation.
The Municipal Theatre holds a capacity of about 800 seats, equipped with all the comfortable conditions for spectators, spread over three rooms: the main room (room 1), auditorium (room 2) and a main hall. It also has a test room, a support bar and various support services to the activity, including foyers and dressing rooms. All rooms are equipped with its own control room with analogic film projection equipment and digital video and control room with light and sound.
The Room 1, comprises a stage box with a web equipped with electrified rods electronically controlled, incorporates an acoustic shell for holding concerts and an orchestra pit with capacity of approximately 50 musicians making possible the realization of opera performances.
