The space now occupied by this garden was, once, designated meadow village, where they realized for many years the fair fortnightly. It has the name of an illustrious young Republican and agricultural engineer, Cândido Mendonça. Still retains the old Bandstand and contains parts of an oil-press, which despite being incomplete gives, to those who visit the idea of the whole process from delivery of the olives to their conversion into olive oil.
