The municipal archive is housed in a restored palace from the early 20th century, expanded for the purpose. A living testimony of the Brazilians’ architecture, the purpose of the Municipal Archive of Fafe is to meet the challenges of today’s society and the new dimensions of Information Science.
The Municipal Archive combines the very rich collections of the City Council with collections from the village councils, associations, private individuals and companies, making this service truly unique in that it is a repository of the history of Fafe between the 19th and 21st centuries.
