The Nossa Senhora da Assunção Shrine is a project of the architect Ernesto Korrodi, dating from 1919.
It is a magnificent example of Roman-Gothic Art inspiration, keeping in the inside a beautiful image of Nossa Senhora da Assunção, from the sculptor João da Fonseca Lapa.
It is a cross plan building, where it is possible to appreciate several architectonic elements, such as the rose windows, the façade and the imposing towers and its counterforts, proper of the neo-romanesque style.
