Monument inaugurated in September 1998, was commissioned by Dr. Manuel Giesteira, a native of Amorim. It aims to symbolize the people who went to Brazil, to the promised land, represented in the Giesteira family, looking for better days. On top of a ramp called "the ramp of a ship on the way to the future" are placed bronze figures representing the businessman's parents and siblings heading for the armillary sphere - "the new world."
