From this place, at about 8 km from the city, it is possible to have a wonderful view over the city of Braga, Barcelos and Vila Verde, as well as the path of the Cávado River backwards from Braga on its way to the Atlantic. It is surely one of the most privileged belvederes of Minho, which has about 304 meters high. From the south part you can see the Bom de Jesus de Braga, as well as the Peneda-Gerês National Park. You also have the Cávado valley at your feet to the south, and the immensity of small holdings and the Neiva valley to the north. Therefore you may contact with two different sides of Minho: one more humanized and industrialized, to the south, and the other part more rural and natural, to the north, where the green valley of Tamel is an indefinable Eden between Barcelos and the valley of Lima. You can also see other places of interest: Teotónio da Fonseca on his work about Barcelos, states that this is a "... high and relieved place, where you can see, to the east, the chapel of Bom Despacho, Cervães, in the municipality of Vila Verde, the Cávado valley and the city of Braga" attesting the interest that this hill always had among the curious and lovers of nature and heritage.
