The Municipal Aerodrome has an 1200 meters asphalt track. The unlimited airspace and the reserved area of 20 nautical miles (37 km), centered on the airfield (except Spanish airspace), are some of the characteristics that make our airfield in a dream location for all glider pilots. It has an International Sailing Centre Flight(CIVVMM) and is considered the best airfield of Portugal where you can practice gliding. The CIVVMM was created in 2006 with the objective of promoting the practice of gliding in northeastern Portugal. Located in a plateau region, between the valleys of the rivers Douro and Sabor, the Center is considered the space with better conditions to practice gliding. This sport is practiced with gliders, ie airplanes without engines that fly with the help of the wind. Those who wish to try gliding, have all weekends to do it at the aerodrome.
On the last weekend of July, the city of Mogadouro promotes the "RedBurros Fly-In" festival, with the aim of develop the tourism in the region, not only through the airfield and encouraging the practice of gliding, but also showing the public the natural landscape heritage of the plateau.
Acrobatic aerial performances, flight gliding demonstrations , parachutists shows and donkey rides are some of the activities that take place at the festival.
