The viewpoint of Santo António de Mixões da Serra is located in the village Mixões da Serra, parish of Valdreu, offering an enjoyable panoramic vision of the valleys of Cávado, Lima and mountains of Soajo, Amarela and Gerês, Cabreira and Alvão / Marão, as well as the observation of granitic features of the Castle of Aboim that dominate the landscape. In this place it is also worth noting the secular Eucharistic tradition of the blessing of animals, which takes place on Sunday before June 13, where they join with their pet owners of different breeds (cows, horses, dogs, cats, goats, sheep, etc). At the end of the Eucharist, with the animals and guided devotees facing the Church, the priest circulates among the people and animals sprinkling holy water and praying to God and Sainto Antonio the protection of animals.
