The south coast of Vila do Conde brings, absolutely harmoniously, the rural component with the component beach and leisure. The parishes of Vila do Conde coastline, traditionally rural, whereas the agricultural holdings and activities associated with them are part of the dairy region of Douro-Minho, and the cultivation of fields forming agricultural mosaics radiating green, complement the beauty of the predominant colours of the sand, sun and sea.
The parishes of Azurara, Árvore, Mindelo, Vila Chã and Labruge and the respective bathing areas offer a total of eleven bathing concessions distributed between Rio Ave, to the North and the Rio Onda, to the south.
All bathing concessions make available to the bathers the beach facilities with bar and terrace, public toilets and surveillance for bathers, with the presence of the lifeguard and the respective guard post.
The majority of beaches, rich in iodine, offers also the traditional shade tents.
Throughout the south coast, the access to the beaches is done through raised wooden walkways, in long sections, we can do walking tours on deployed gangways, parallel to the coastline, particularly in Mindelo, Vila Chã, Moreiró and Castro de S. Paio.
