In one of the exhibition rooms of the Casa da Cultura da Trofa it is possible to visit two milestones, classified as a National Monument. They were found in the 40s of the last century during the works for the railway construction, having been placed in thePonte da Trofa Velha. They were removed to the Casa da Cultura da Trofa in order to be preserved. They belonged to VIA XVI, the Roman road that connected Bracara Augusta (Braga) - the capital of Conventus Bracarense that belonged to the province of Galaecia (covered more or less the territory corresponding to the current northern Portugal and Galicia) – to Cale (Porto) and finished in Olisipo (Lisbon). They Indicate the XXI mile.
