Most people are unaware of the Corim house in the municipal council of Maia. Passers-by do not notice the beautiful Nasoni style of this house, which is located in Águas Santas and whose construction began in the 17th century.
It was used as the headquarters of D. Miguel during the siege of Porto in 1832/34.
Some years later it became a family residence and recently it was sold to the Maia Municipal council.
Today the house of Corim has been renovated and is a luxury venue for the Council's receptions. Its magnificent garden where century-old trees and traditional Portuguese tiles can be admired offers visitors a peaceful atmosphere, a rare delight in city life. The atmosphere in the house is secluded and familiar. Here guests do not experience the cold impersonality that is so usual at many reception venues.
The Corim house is unfortunately closed to the public. However, we know that those who do visit it take home with them a harmonious picture of Maia.
