Genaral Description
The Leça Valley trail runs through the space corresponding to the parishes that line the valley enjoying the river Leça from the Quedas de Fervença (Fervença Falls), until Água Longa.
The trail can start in the Guimarei football field and finish in Ponte das Cabras, in Refojos, or vice versa. There is a circular trail between the Guimarei football field and Guimarei Church passing through Sobradelo Place – Água Longa and Lamelas.
This route allows to observe the agricultural areas of the parishes that surround the Leça Valley, the Outeiro Alto (Parishes of Guimarei and Lamelas limits), Quintas da Peneda and Pizão (gathered by the Água Longa Golf Course), Alto Catorze e Cornadinho (the highest point of the Leça Valley area – a challenge to climb), the clear waters of the river Leça and the Fervença Falls, in Refojos. This trail is characterized by agricultural traditions still strong in the beginning of the XXI century. It is a medium difficulty trail allowing an environmental contact for the walkers.
