The small, picturesque square has a dramatic story to tell. Here, in the house located south, dated from the seventeenth century, have worked the wheel of rejected, a structure of the Portuguese State, created in the late eighteenth century and was designed to save thousands of babies abandoned every year. The House of Roda was, however, a huge advance over the shameful lack of alternatives by institutions and individuals, having worked for about 50 years.
