The International Museum of Contemporary Sculpture was born in 1991, under the porposal of the sculptor Alberto Carneiro for the execution of a sculpture symposium to which were underlying themes related to art and specifically to sculpture as public art.
Following the results obtained in the first editions, the City Council decided to create in 1996 the International Museum of Contemporary Sculpture. In the organizational structure of the museum, take part renowned artists such as the national Commissioner – Professor Alberto Carneiro and the international Commissioner – the Catalan Gérard Xuriguera, teacher and art critic.
