The High Performance Centre of Vila Nova de Gaia is located in Oliveira do Douro’s parish, in direct conjunction with the green space of the Lavandeira’s park and with the sports space of the Municipal stadium.
The sports unit includes the integral remodelling of the Municipal Pavilion built in 1972 and its respective expansion work to the creation of two high performance centres dedicated to the modalities of Table tennis and Taekwondo. Thus, this sports complex is found subdivided in 3 pavilions interconnected physically, but can also work in autonomous way.
The High Performance Centre is still constituted by a new building destined to the host unit for athletes, with capacity for 64 users (20 triple rooms and 4 individual rooms destined for people with disabilities). The complex has several support spaces, namely, locker rooms, gyms, saunas, medical offices and hydro massage, bars, restaurants space.
