Sandra Duarte was born in Praia da Granja, V. N. Gaia, in 1971.
She attended the Lisbon Fine Arts University. She provided training in the Arts area for 5 years.
She did some training activities in the areas of Jewelry, Illustration, Ceramics, Torch Technique, Blown Glass and others.
In 1996, she began working with glass, improving the technique with some training activities in Portugal and Spain.
She made several exhibitions: in Espinho - at the Parish Council Gallery; in Porto - in Miguel Bombarda, in Lisbon - at FIL and Museum of Popular Art; in Galicia, Spain.
She received many awards: in Vila do Conde - best play award with the theme "As rendilheiras” (The lace makers); in Lisbon - best piece of contemporary art; at FIL - for two consecutive years, with the Handicraft National Award.
With parts ceded to permanent exhibitions: in the Toy Museum in Sintra, in the Popular Arts Museum in Pombal, in Benfica Museum in Lisbon and in the Glass Museum in New York.
