One of most important prehistoric arts complex in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, consisting of about one hundred rocks engraved with different symbolic geometrical and nature-related motifs, from which stands out quadrangular and rectangular shaped elements, with rounded (smoothed) corners, as well as several anthropomorphic figures (schematics of the human figure), especially of the “in fi” type.
The location of the “Gião”’s archaeological site on the Hill going by the same name, is almost 800 meters above sea level, dominating a vast natural amphitheatre, making it equally superlative in terms of natural ambience, creating a deeply symbolic wholeness of Social and Religious reality of the human communities that held during the II Millennium BC.
