The Guntilanis Gallery, is located in the building of Ludoteca / Library that occupies four floors of the "tower" and its name refers to origins of Vila Praia de Ancora, dating back to the year 711, after the Arab occupation of the Peninsula Iberian. Linked to the settlement of this area has emerged the name of Gunt or Gunths, anthroponym of Germanic root, which later evolved into Guntila / Guntilanis / GUNTI (la) nis / Gontiães / Gontinhães, the latter being the name of the town, which only started to adopt the current name 84 years ago, with the elevation to the status category of town.
