Built in the town where Aquilino Ribeiro has lived, the manor house dating from the nineteenth century gives way to the Foundation Aquilino Ribeiro founded in 1988 by the son judge, fruit of the first Aquilino marriage with the german Grete Tiedman. The house has a private chapel, an inner courtyard and farming attachments. Here you can find exposed hundreds of personal objects of the writer, between books, postcards and photographs. Aquilino Ribeiro memories are stored in the house where he would written some of his works in the village of Soutosa, Moimenta da Beira.
A visit to this house will help to understand the world portrayed by the master and perhaps to arouse the curiosity to read or re-read some of his works.
In addition to visit the House Museum, you can also visit the Aquilino Ribeiro Library, located in the house of São João (with auditorium on the ground floor), and the house of the villager with some agricultural artefacts in rural family atmosphere in Casa da Boavista.
