The feast of Our Lady of Amparo brings every year in the summer thousands of believers to Mirandela. The highlights are the procession; the rockets and “morteiros” resounding in the streets of the town; the night of the fireworks with thousands of people on the river banks of Tua; and the Night of Drums involving the crowd in a kind of collective drunkenness.
