Built from 1777 on by order of the Bishop of Lamego D. Manuel Vasconcelos Pereira, this is a typical Neo-classical manor house. To the south, and facing the churchyard (Church of Santa Marinha), the house has an interesting round window, which, according to tradition, was used by bishops. They would only come to church to say mass after first checking the turnout of parishioners for mass through this glass round window.
The Episcopal Palace is a vast building with enormous windows and rooms, with the coat of arms of the Vasconcelos family on its façade. Although this is a private monument, visitors can still see the exterior architecture, in particular the coat of arms.
