Description
This palace, from the 18th century, was known as Casa de Almacave. It operated as the court of the city for a long time. The Court of Appeal operated in this building during the Oporto siege by the Miguelist forces, between 1832 and 1833. The palace came to be bought, restored and inhabited by Melchior Pereira Coutinho de Vilhena, becoming a bequest for the property of the Lamego diocese, where the Episcopal Palace was settled.
