The Costa Grande Sporting Complex occupies an area of 14000 m2, bordered by the left bank of the Tâmega River and the EN 312, and it is located about one kilometre from the town centre.
Conceived to enable people of any age to partake in several different sporting activities, it has areas for traditional sports, extreme sports and active leisure.
Traditional sports can be practiced on a 6-lane running track for 100-metre and hurdle races; facilities for jumping events (high jump, pole vault and long jump) and throwing events; three multi-sport areas for team sports and a tennis court. For extreme sports, there is a climbing wall. There is also a children's playground and a circuit training track.
The Costa Grande Sporting Complex also has public 1300-seat stands, a main administrative building and changing rooms. The facilities can be used simultaneously by six teams and there is a bar/grill and a parking lot for 43 passenger cars and 2 buses.
