There have been reports of the church of Navais in the "Visitation Book" since the 16th century, but the present building is largely the product of the 1840s addition and the late 18th century works, namely the façade and the tower.
It is a well-proportioned, single-nave building with sacristies and storerooms.
The baroque façade - in the lightness of its curved and interrupted pediments - is lined with later tiles. The fact that it is situated on a “podium”, with its churchyard surrounded by small walls and a staircase, allows a good view, even giving it a certain stature.
The west-facing main door, following the canonical orientation, reveals its traditional construction.
The neoclassical altarpieces house the images of the main devotions of the parish: Saint Luzia, Souls of Purgatory, Saint Andrew, Sacred Heart of Jesus, Our Lady of Fatima
Location: Póvoa de Varzim
