In Vale de Porco, the figure of the “Old Man” is the character of all the Christmas rituals.
The “Old Man” in the company of the stewards carry out the offertory in the Christmas morning day, covering the village, making fun of the kids, that make also fun of him, reaching him on various ways.
It represents the devil, that doesn´t let to ask charity to the divinity, Jesus.
At New Year’s day the “Old Man” goes out again; this festivity event can join to the mythology of expulsion of old year and the preparation of new year.
