The Monte Padrão Archaeological Center is located on the hill with the same and occupies a rocky spur of the massif known by Monte Córdova. Surrounded by a wall, the roman settlement is structured from an egg-shaped platform with about 200 meters long towards north/south and 100m towards east/west, surrounded by a wall. The Center has a significant number of exhumed structures over several archaeological works that had Carlos Faya Santarém as pioneer and main driver. The identified structures and materials allow to admit an extensive occupation that covers a wide chronological period beginning in the Bronze Final Middle Ages. It was classified National Monument in 1910.
