The Iron Age left important remains in Sabrosa, among which are the Castro da Sancha or Castelo dos Mouros. "The Castro de Sabrosa, faced to the East, it has a quadrilateral configuration, with the top vertex faced the North West, other to the South West, the third to the South East and forth pointed to the North East", in “O Castro de Sabrosa” by Carlos M. N. Ervedosa, 1968. It is located in a place of excellent visibility and panoramic view, with good natural defences the Castro (Pre-Roman Settlement) was reinforced with the construction of moats and several orders of walls, which still can be observed and visit today. In the Castro de Sabrosa are visible, inside the fortified settlement, the remains of the different domestic buildings. For its good state of preservation, for its monumentality and historical value, the Castro de Sabrosa deserves a visit.
