Based on spur, the Castro de Penices is a small village surrounded by a fortification and reinforced, on the most vulnerable side, connecting to the spur, with three ditches and three slopes. The occupation in the early iron-age revealed that the place was protected by a stone wall, of approximately 3 metres wide, with two fronts and filling-up consisting of soil and stones.
The domestic structures indicated circular or oval plans, restricted by pole holes, built with perishable materials and terracotta pavements. The turning into stone of domestic structures initiates a new phase in the life of this town reaching its greater dynamism at the turn of the millennium. From this period are three structures belonging to a sphere bordered by the fortification and a wall, set up by a House with an atrium, which overlapped the other circular plan-structure, and two circular attachments, one of which in a smaller diameter.
The topographic positioning of the station restricts the visibility on the East-West angle, but to the North and West the visibility is great, reaching, therefore, the Castros of Saia (Barcelos), Terroso (Póvoa de Varzim and Bagunte (Vila do Conde).
