Castle Botanical Park

This park opened to public on the 13th of September of 2009 and resulted in the acquisition by the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia of an old abandoned farm. Taking advantage of the existent vegetation, in ledges, this green space armed oneself of a botanical nature. Among other species, you find ash trees, cork oaks, native oak trees, strawberry trees. There is also an endemism from the North of Portugal, the clear Omphalades. On the south bank of the river Douro, the Botanical Park of the Castle offers a very pleasant landscape to who visits it.
