The Casa do Melhorado, located in the parish of Vale de Bouro, is one of the most ancient manor houses of the County, already mentioned in the year 1471.
The House and farm of Melhorado, or also known as Valmelhorado, were founded by trustworthy noblemen and military men of the monarchs.
Appointed as founder of this House is Pedro Pimentel da Mesquita, a descendant of the kings of Leão, who stood by side of King D. Afonso the 5th on the taking over of Arzila, in Maroccos.
At architecture level, emphasis is given to the noble gate with its majestic family coat of arms, possessing yet another set of coat of arms found within the house. Other notable structures are the chapel in honour of Saint Anthony, built in 1667, and the fountain close by, with a set of tile panels.
