Accessibility: Located at 15 km from the A4 (Mirandela) allows a quick connection to Bragança, Vila Real, Viseu, among other cities. It is also just over 30 km from the Spain border, through Verin, where the connection to the whole of Europe is possible, from the A52 (Rias Baixas motorway).
Brief description: In Carrazedo de Montenegro exist one of the country's largest chestnut export centres for this reason this beautiful village is referred as "The Chestnut Capital". Annually, it is realized a fair dedicated to this famous and important fruit, the chestnut, which brings to the Carrazedo de Montenegro village, in November, thousands of people, and consists of craft shows, gastronomy, traditional live music and street animation. In the 7th, 8th and 9th November 2014, it was held the “XVIII Fair CASTMONTE Chestnut” with a diversified program in addition to the traditional products of Valpaços where they cannot miss the wine, the olive oil, the dried fruit, jams and the world-famous chestnut of the Carrazedo. The fair offers plenty of entertainment, the TT ride (the Chestnut Paths) and mountain bike ride (the Chestnut Route). The visitors also have the opportunity to taste the world's biggest chestnut cake.
