Classified as National Monument, this bridge is one of the most remarkable medieval works in Portugal, dating from the first half of the XV century. It stands on the river Lima, just outside the village, separating the municipalities of Ponte da Barca and Arcos de Valdevez. Having gone through heavy renovations in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, this bridge has ten round arches, all different among themselves, and, in the middle, two gravestones, one with the coat of arms of Ponte da Barca, and the other one with the armillary sphere.
