BRIDGE OF VILAR DE MOUROS – VILAR DE MOUROS

Caminha
Description
In the place of Ponte, over the river Coura, it is located the bridge of Vilar de Mouros, a national monument since 1910.

Considered as one of the prototypes of national Gothic bridges, the bridge consists of three arcs slightly broken, the average one being of largest dimension and in a board stand. Although it is not known the exact date of its construction, its architectural features point to the period between the end of the fourteenth century and the beginning of the fifteenth century.
