Bairro da Ponte is a picturesque quarter of Lamego, crossing the River Balsemão. There are three chapels in this quarter: S. Lázaro, Sra. dos Meninos, and Sr. dos Aflitos. Some characteristics of this quarter are also highlighted on the houses and traditions. It is possible to see some biscuit makers baking the traditional 'Bolo da Teixeira'. However, other professions were determining in the life of these people: washerwomen, tradesmen, shoemakers, and millers.
