Description
This Romanesque bridge provides a link between the Bagunte and Macieira da Maia Civil Parish, surrounded by fields with vines. It makes a connection with the Roman / medieval street and is also known as Via Veteriz that, from Oporto headed towards Barcelos / Esposende. The house and watermills near the bridge are highlighted. It shows an irregular board, oriented towards the north (Macieira da Maia Civil Parish) / South (Bagunte Civil Parish), and a slight ramp, based on eight perfect arches of different dimensions. Its construction dates from the 12th / 13th centuries. In 1220 it was referred to in the inquiries of the Bagunte Civil Parish.
