The wine production is a family tradition for Domingos Alves de Sousa: his father (Edmundo Alves de Sousa) and grandfather (Domingos Alves de Sousa) had already been winegrowers in the Douro.
But Domingos Alves de Sousa embraced initially one another career. Having a degree in Civil Engineering, could not resist the dual appeal (of earth and blood), and left his business in 1987 to devote himself exclusively to the operation of the farms, legacy he has inherited and to others that subsequently he had acquired, in which it has been implementing a working model for land consolidation and restructuring of the vineyards.
