From the 60s, the story of the Faia village was marked forever when a part of the village had to be relocated for the construction of the Vilar dam. This event also led to, that recently, the municipality of Sernancelhe had proceed with the upgrading of primary school turning it to the Interpretive Center Village of Aldeia da Faia, which aims to promote the study, the promotion and preservation of this beautiful riverside village. With a length of 3.5 km, the pedestrian route allows the direct contact with elements that make the connection between the old Faia and the new Faia , including the anthropomorphic graves, and invites to a journey through time, in direct contact with nature.
