The Aguiar Castle, once the administrative and militar head of the lands of Aguiar da Pena, witnesss the peculiar relationship the Man kept throughout this county´s history with natural resources provided by nature. This fortification, prior to the nationality, has na authentic natural fortress of giant granit balls as base, overlooking the Aguiar Valley, reason for belonging to in category of rocking castle.
The visit to this monument, which has been adandoned for five centurries, is done in a very idyllic environment due to well preserved oaks that surround the castle and to the assiduous presence of the eagles of which the Lands and Castle are named after.
