Adriano Olivetti: businessman, entrepreneur, intellectual, politician
OLIVETTI'S LEGACY ON DISPLAY AT CASA DO DESIGN
In the 1950s, Olivetti surrounded himself with the brightest minds in Italy to lead the company in pioneering steps in the development of electronics and computer science, technology that NASA would use in 1969 to take Man to the moon. Olivetti's experience is now presented at Casa do Design, in an exhibition about one of the most polyhedral and extraordinary figures in the history of Italian and world industry in the 20th century.
The exhibition's itinerancy in Portugal is organized by the Municipality of Matosinhos, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura and esad—idea, Investigation in Design and Art, with the curatorship of Maria Milano (ESAD), under the aegis of the Italian Embassy in Portugal, and promoted by Ministero degli Affari Esteri and della Cooperazione Internazionale Italiano, in collaboration with MAXXI and Fondazione Adriano Olivetti.
