Balloons and Melodies is the lead single for the new album by Captain Boy. According to the artist, the song tells the story of "a girl, a balloon and what good we take home when we leave the party early." It is a memory whose cadence is defined by a drum machine, a kind of "time machine, which begins, ends and returns to the starting point as if it were a melody of comfort."
The music video is performed by Bruno Carreira, who had previously signed the videos for True Love Will Find You In The End and Diablo. It was recorded in a continuous take, as if it were a memory packed by the eternal beat of the drum machine.
A dry and unassuming rhythm machine, a dirty guitar, a ghostly echo that appears from nowhere, the voice that reflects a certain resignation before the inevitability of growth. Rusty sonority accompanies him in all performances, reminding us to an environment as if we were on board an imaginary boat. It takes in the basement a homonymous EP, published in 2015, the long-running debut, 1, and tickets for Super Bock Super Rock, Bons Sons festival, Vodafone Paredes de Coura Festival or Casa da Música, among others. 2019 began with the announcement of new album and the single that presents it, Balloons and Melodies, theme that will be made known to the public in the next live performances.
